4 Encouraging Bible Verses about God’s Will

The Bible is the most accurate and honest place to seek the Lord and gain perspective on His will for your life.

As Christians, we hear a lot about pursuing God’s will but are often left wondering how to go about it. While only God himself knows His plan for us, He loved us enough to give us His Word as a guide. The Bible is the most accurate and honest place to seek the Lord and gain perspective.

We asked some of our staff to share a verse that helps them understand who God has called them to be. We hope these scriptures encourage you to dive into the Word and seek the will of God.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

“I love these verses because they clearly describe these character attributes as God’s will for me in Christ Jesus. These verses are very clear that no matter what the situation or circumstance, God is certain that He wants me to be a man of joy who seeks Him in prayer and is full of thanksgiving. These are powerful attributes that allow me to rest in Jesus.” – Steve Biondo, Senior Vice President of Human Resources

Romans 12:2 ESV
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

“This verse has always spoken to me in an incredibly deep way. We are constantly being tugged at and pulled toward conforming to the ways of this world, but I will never cease to consistently renew my mind in God and push myself to be exactly who He has called me to be.” – Olivia Holman, Visual Merchandiser

Romans 8:6 NIV
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

“Though it’s a daily, moment-to-moment battle, I have found that the rewards of thinking about and satisfying my own wants and desires are so shallow and short-lived. When I pursue God through daily Bible study, prayer, and fellowship it positions me to be led by the Holy Spirit. I am able to serve with joy and I have better perspective on life’s problems, which are inevitable. I experience peace as a result of hope and perspective.” – Dan McAleenan, SVP Store Operations

Philippians 4:13 NKJV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

“These verses remind me that I can achieve anything as long as I seek the will of the Lord. Regardless of the task, circumstance or situation, everything will work out because God is in control and I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Andreanna Sims, Real Estate Manager

We hope these Bible verses inspire you to live your life in alignment with God’s will. We encourage you to seek Him through His Word as you strive to be more like Christ.

The Story of the Bible

Have you ever used a Life Application Bible before? I have used a New Living version of this Bible for a number of years. It fits like a “ball in the glove” for my devotional time.

Recently, I was exposed to the New Living Chronological Life Application Study Bible. It’s certainly not a “new” Bible, but the new is found in how it’s arranged. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Timeline/header on each page. This allows the reader to see where they are within the context of the whole Bible.
  • Notes. Notes about history, context, culture. So much information here that allows the text to come alive.
  • Charts. Maps. Diagrams. Illustrations.
  • Dictionary/concordance.
  • The 30,000 view – a commentary of the whole Bible.
  • Application. Thousands of contextual applications. Again, if you are familiar with any Application Bible, this is standard.

If you are looking to go a little deeper in your walk with Christ, I would highly recommend the NLT Chronological Life Application Study Bible. You will never run out of applications to be challenged by.

Don’t take my word for it, here is what a few of our customers have said about the Bible:

I am new to reading the bible and I found this Life Application bible and I love it. It explains with so much depth! Love that it has a timeline at the top of each page. It’s definitely the perfect Bible if you are really wanting to learn and study! Love this!
– Love this Bible! by Kaitlin

I have read with Prayer, the first 200 pages. And, I have read into the New Testament. I must say, this is a gift from God. Thank You whoever all were responsible for listening to God to put this Bible together. Much appreciated.
– NLT Chronological by James

This is a Bible that I would recommend to all my friends and family. It is by far one of the best ones I have come across.
– Best Bible Ever by Drew S.

I have to say, this version of the Bible is fresh and exciting. I have never had a chronological Bible before so this is new to me. I love how this Bible is divided into time eras and within the eras all of the books are in timeline order. This really helps with the OT as well as how the Epistles are intertwined with Acts. The full color photos make it like the NIV Archaeological Study Bible. Full color charts add flavor to the notes. The best part is the Life Application notes as well as Bible character focuses. Wrap that all up in the NLT translation that is easy to read yet maintains integrity to the original Bible text and you have something that is great for today, tomorrow, and years to come.
– Brings the Bible into a great new light by Dave T.

Whether you already own one Bible or have a library of several, this new Bible provides unique resources to the reader that fosters increased engagement, understanding, and perspective. Reading the Bible has never been more illuminating. Enjoy!
